Andalou Naturals Lash + Lid Make-Up Remover

I’ve been slowly switching out all of my cosmetics for natural alternatives, whether that be a simple homemade project like my Homemade Whipped Body Butter or Homemade Nail Serum, or trying out a natural brand without the use of harsh ingredients, and it was time to find a make-up remover that could stand up to the challenge.

Even though I do love myself some DIYs, sometimes it’s nice to pick up a bottle of something that’s already made and ready to use. That was how I felt on this particular day, so I headed to my local health food store to see what they had.

There were a few options, but was compelled to try Andalou Naturals.

The Ingredients

While I was in the store, I checked the ingredient list on the box and was happily surprised. There were no chemicals listed that I personally steer clear of, you can read about those chemical ingredients here.

There were a lot of ingredients that even with limited knowledge could easily tell were natural, like Jojoba Oil and Rosehip Oil, along with several extracts.

Also on the box, it noted the product was Certified Gluten Free, Non GMO Verified, and Cruelty Free which are all great perks.

My First Impression

I was excited to give this new make-up remover a try, and although the bottle says it’s for lid and lash make-up removal, I used it to remove my full face of makeup.

My very first impression of Andalou Naturals was something along the lines of WTF!?

That’s because in the store I didn’t realize Andalou’s make-up remover was a cream. I had never used –or even seen a make-up remover in the form of a cream before. I honestly thought that I had just wasted my money and assumed it would be a total bust for this reason alone.

But as it turns out, this is one of the things I like about it most.

I’m so used to using an oil based make-up remover that left my skin oily (imagine that) and dry. This make-up remover is completely different. It’s so moisturizing that some nights when I’m feeling a little extra lazy, I don’t even apply a moisturizer after. It just feels so nourishing on my skin!

The Application

Like I mentioned, the bottle says “Lash and Lid Make-up Remover” but I chose to use it to remove my full face of make-up, and it does not disappoint. I didn’t have to use any other products to get my make-up off, nor did I have to scrub my face with this product. It came off easily and was gentle on my skin.

Something else I thought was worth mentioning was that this formula actual conditions your lashes, and brows. On the package it says that it “fortifies for longer, fuller lashes; extends full lash growth potential; and enhances beautiful shaped brows”.

It says to apply with a cotton pad which I did for the first few nights, but I found it came off easier if I applied it with my fingers to my eye area, then wiped it clean with the cotton pad. This just made for a quicker removal.

Another great thing about Andalou Naturals Makeup Remover, is that a little goes a long way. I use less than one full pump per eye, and about two pumps for the rest of my face.

And because this isn’t an oily make-up remover, I don’t feel the need to rinse my face afterwards, instead I’ll go right in with my cleanser and moisturizer, or if I’m feeling lazy, I’ll leave it at that.

Two Days Later

This is when the real magic happened. I had been using Andalou’s make-up remover for just two nights, when I woke up on the morning of the third and came to the mirror.

I was blown away!

It’s not often that you can actually be surprised when you look in the mirror, I mean it’s something you do every day, probably more than once. And if you were able to see a change, it would probably have to be quite a big change to notice, right?

Well, it was a big change.

My skin looked so bright and refreshed, my red areas and my dark circles all seemed to be faded, I just couldn’t get over how healthy my skin looked! I even had to get a second opinion from my husband, I was that surprised.

Now, it may seem strange that I couldn’t believe how bright and fresh my skin looked, especially if you consider it says brightening right on the bottle, but I think we’re all so used to seeing claims on packaging that we never see the effects of that we’ve become a little jaded. Well, I have at least.

So to find a product that actually does what it says it does, and does it so well, I’m impressed!

An Added Bonus: Age Defying

Andalou Naturals has something above its competition, fruit stem cells. This is their not so secret ingredient that makes their products age defying and top notch.

On their website, they explain that they use the stem cells from Uttwiler Spatlauber apples, Gamay Teinturier Freaux grapes, Argan nuts derived from the Moroccan Berber tree, and Alpine Roses from the Swiss Alps.

Each of these fruits contain valuable health benefits that Andalou Naturals uses to create an age defying formula to renew, repair and rejuvenate your skin.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was incredibly impressed with Andalou Naturals Lid and Lash Make-Up Remover. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this product again and again (I’ve already repurchased!).

When I do a review, I always like to mention the cons as well as the pros, but with this product, I can honestly say that I have found no cons. I love it all!

I’m excited to see what else Andalou Naturals has up their sleeves (I already have a huge Andalou Naturals wish list!), this product has quickly become a favorite of mine and a staple in my natural beauty routine.

I hope that this review has been helpful if you were thinking of purchasing the Andalou Naturals Lash and Lid Make-up Remover, or if you were out of make-up remover and wanting to try something new.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this product, or any Andalou Naturals products you’ve tried!
