Since making the switch to clean beauty, I’ve really stepped up my makeup game and learned a few tricks that have taken my makeup to the next level. Most of these are trick you could use weather you’re using clean beauty or not, but I thought I’d share anyways to help a girl out 😉
Glowing from Within
One of the newest tricks I’ve been doing is using a cream bronzer underneath my powder bronzer. I’ve been using the W3LL People Bio Bronzer stick like you would a cream contour and it has made a huge difference in the way my makeup looks.
I used to just use a powder bronzer to get the glowing look, and I can definitely say that using a cream and a powder together not only makes me look more glowy, but also keeps my bronzed look from disappearing a few hours later.
This is one makeup trick I can’t see ever going back on!
Eliminate Your Under Eye Creases
I have always used a powder to set under my eyes, but since receiving the Mooi Lab Finishing Powder, I’ve noticed my under eye looking ah-mazing.
This powder is made from 100% Silica and glides on so smoothly. It doesn’t cause discoloration like my colored setting powder did, and I find you can’t accidentally put on too much, the excess just wipes away.
I also would say that this brush from Lily Lolo is the best that I’ve used to set under my eyes. It’s the perfect size and shape!
From Powder-Face to Glowing Goddess
Like I mentioned, I use a lot of powder products on my skin. Powder bronzer, setting powder, powder blush on occasion, and sometimes my skin can look a little… powdery, imagine that!
Since discovering this Hydrating Mist from Verdura Naturalternatives back in April, I’ve been able to completely eliminate that powder-face look with a few sprays of this Lotus Mist. After my entire face of makeup is on, I just spritz this and it makes my skin look dewy and natural and also helps my makeup stay on longer!
Any setting spray would probably do the same thing but this Lotus Mist is a longtime favorite, I would highly recommend giving it a go!
The Lazy Girl’s Winged Liner
Again, this could totally be done with any non-clean beauty products, but I’ve recently started doing it and it’s totally changed my winged liner game!
Sometimes liquid liner can be so finicky, or messy, or hard to use, or maybe even just too bold for your look. So instead of using my liquid liner (especially on days that I want a softer look) I’ve been using my Graydon Face Food spray (water would also be perfect, this was just in reach) to wet my makeup brush, then applying my black shadow.
Wetting your brush makes the eyeshadow come out super pigmented, and I find using a makeup brush much easier than any liquid liner wand. The only drawback is it’s not as black as a liquid liner, but again, I use this when I want a softer look.
Banish Dark Circles
Naturally, I have pretty dark under eyes. My skin is very pale so they stand out a lot more. It’s something that I’ve always had to deal with but for the last few months I’ve been using the Hynt Duet Perfecting Concealer and it has been the best at hiding my dark circles.
This also is the best concealer if you have any redness. I get redness around the base of my nose and no other concealer hides it quite this good.
And pairing the Hynt concealer with the Mooi Lab Finishing Powder is perfection!
Flawless Foundation Application
If you haven’t tried applying your foundation with a beauty sponge, girl! You’re missing out!
This is hands-down the best foundation (and liquid concealor) applicator ever! Using a damp beauty sponge leave absolutely no streaks like a brush will, and since you use it damp, it actually makes your foundation look more dewy and skin-like.
Back when I used liquid concealers I would apply them with the beauty sponge as well, the Hynt concealer is just a bit too thick, I find it best to apply with your finger or a concealer brush.
Using a makeup sponge has completely changed how my foundation looks. I remember the first few times I tried it I couldn’t stop checking out my face in the mirror, I was so impressed!
These six makeup secrets have totally changed my makeup game! I have noticed a big difference on how my makeup looks, and how long it stays on my face since using these tricks.
I would love to hear if you use any of these tricks in your makeup routine or if you have any of your own!
