I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get this review out, I’m almost out of this foundation already! Life happens, right?
Anyways, I was dying to try the Vita-Active Foundation from FitGlow because it’s one of those brands that gets me really excited. Their products are super cute, they’re focus is healthy skin, and they’re kind of pricey but doesn’t that make you want to try them that much more?
So I ordered this foundation when I was out of my 100% Pure 2nd Skin Foundation and if I’m being honest, it was pretty hard to not repurchase that. I couldn’t have been happier with that foundation, but I had high hopes for FitGlow.
The Vita-Active Foundation is more than just a foundation, it has been specially crafted to reduce uneven skin tone, sun damage and freckles with continuous use.
It can also help provide protection from free radicals, reduce inflammation, and improve skin smoothness and elasticity! Talk about a multitasker!
So obviously I was pretty stoked to give it a go.
The Vita-Active Foundation is a liquid foundation, but it almost reminds me of a mousse texture. When you pump other liquid foundations onto your hand, they spread out into a puddle, but this foundation stays upright like a little pile instead.
And you can imagine, it goes on like a dream! I really love applying liquid foundation with my beauty sponge and between that and my fingers, the sponge wins hands down.
I have applied it with a brush, but in my opinion, the sponge makes it look flawless whereas the brush leaves streaks. But if you’re a brush girl, this will totally work for you too (but seriously, try the sponge).
I would call this a buildable coverage, I wear one coat and it’s enough to cover my minor imperfections and redness, but you can still see my freckles through. If I put on another coat, it turns into a medium coverage, and you can barely see that I have freckles through it.
It’s not heavy on the skin and it lasts all day. I often feel like I need to touch up my makeup part way through the day, but not my foundation. I really love it!
FitGlow has 9 beautiful shades to choose from, starting from pale AF (that’s me) to a very deep and beautiful tan. I love that they have shades for those of us with pink undertones, this matches my skin really well.
I feel like FitGlow has a reputation of being super pure, so it’s no surprise that their foundation is super clean. There is only one ingredient that doesn’t rate a 1-2 on the EWG and that is Ultramarines, which scores a 1-4, but this foundation is rated a perfect 0 on the Think Dirty App.

The Only Flaw
There is one thing about this foundation that I’m not loving, and that is the pump. It works great and pumps out an average amount of product, but sometimes the foundation will get dried out in the pump.
Then when you use it the next time, it pumps out a little nugget of dried foundation that doesn’t blend in at all, you pretty much have to pick it off your face. So that is kind of a bummer. I’ve learned to look for it, and pick it out before I apply it to my skin.
But that’s really the only negative thing I have to say about it. I have really enjoyed using this foundation, and now that I’m nearly out it will be very hard not to repurchase! But I would like to explore some more clean foundations options so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Vita-Active Foundation!
