Christmas is just over a week away and when it comes to Christmas shopping, your running out of time! If you still have anyone on your list, here’s a really quick, 10 minute homemade gift that any woman in your life would love!
Around the holidays, the one treat that I just cannot get enough of is candy canes. I have a red and white spot in my heart for them. So, when I decided to make a sugar scrub that is all natural and great for exfoliating that dry skin, I just had to make it candy cane scented! It’s so festive!
Sugar scrubs are great for all times of the year, but especially in the cooler months when the air is dry and so is our skin. I already have naturally dry skin, so you can imagine how I get in the winter. I like to have an exfoliant in the shower to do my arms and legs, and also one at the sink to use on my dry hands.
This would be such a cute gift to give someone this holiday season, or just an easy diy to make for yourself!
** Find the recipe card at the end of the post **
You Will Need:
1 cup Sugar
¼ cup Fractionated Coconut Oil (in liquid form)
15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
1. Combine the sugar and coconut oil.
2. Add the essential oils.
3. Mix until well combined, then spoon into jar.
It’s that easy. Literally took me less than 10 minutes. And it smells sooo good! I used a 250 ml jar and this recipe made enough to fill it, with a bit left over. However big your container, just remember the ratio is 4:1, four parts sugar, one part oil.
You could also use another carrier oil if you didn’t want to use coconut oil. If you need help deciding, check out my post on how to choose carrier oils, I list the best oils for dry skin and tell you what oils are best for diy projects like this!
Let me know if you try out this sugar scrub, and enjoy the last few chaotic weeks of the holiday season!
