It’s time to go through your cleaning cupboard and purge all those chemical filled cleaners because there’s only one product you’ll need that can be used on almost any surface in your home. And it’s a simple, all natural DIY to boot.
I made this cleaner in under 5 minutes, and have been completely obsessed! You can even ask my husband, the night I made it, I went crazy and cleaned the entire house.
It just makes cleaning not so bad (almost enjoyable) when your using something that you know is safe -no rubber gloves needed- smells amazing, and works! Especially when it’s something you made yourself. *high five*
It feels so good to simplify cleaning by having one product that cleans so many things. I’ve used it on my countertops, cupboards, linoleum floor, in my bathroom, and even my stainless steel appliances!
This recipe fills a 4 oz bottle (which is not very much) so feel free to double or triple the recipe to make more. Basically, if you just use the ratio: one part castile soap to three parts distilled water you can make any amount you want.
** Find recipe card at the end of the post **
You Will Need:
3/8 cup Distilled Water*
2 Tbsp. Castile Soap
Glass Spray Bottle (similar bottle in 16oz size)
*Always use distilled water when you can in DIY projects, tap water can contain substances that can cause bacteria to grow. Boiled water is ok if you plan to use it up right away, but distilled is preferred.
1. Add all ingredients together and pour into glass bottle.
2. Gently shake to combine.
3. After using on a surface, make sure to wipe away with a damp cloth or it could leave a soapy residue.
Just want to mention, I really love my cleaning products to have a heavy scent, and 30 drops of essential oils really packs a punch (could make you cough if you inhale right after spraying). If you’d prefer a more mild scent, feel free to add less oils.
Now, this is an all-purpose cleaner and can be used on almost any surface in your home (including your stone countertops) but I would always recommend trying it out on an inconspicuous spot first before you go nuts.
I used a blend of Purify and Lemon essential oils for two reasons. First, they smell amazing! And it’s totally engrained in us to connect citrus to clean, am I right?
And secondly, these two oils (among others) have antibacterial properties that fight bacterial. And yes, I know Purify has lemon in it, I just wanted extra cleaning power.
This one easy homemade cleaner can replace so many toxic store bought cleaners! Let me know how much you love it!
