All-Natural Odor Eliminator

That smelly closet at the door, the guest bedroom, the bathroom, and the trash can under the sink. These are all great examples of places in the home that seem to get a little stale, or down right stinky!

If only there was a way to eliminate odors while keeping the air FRESH and free from added toxins and artificial smells.

Enter: Homemade Natural Odor Eliminator!

This is a great homemade project that is completely natural, only takes a few minutes to make, and just a handful of supplies.

And you can customize it to match any décor or season.

This is a total win over conventional odor control because there’s only two ingredients, and no harmful chemicals. Traditional store bought fresheners contain artificial scents that are toxic for our health, not to mention they usually have other chemicals used in production.

You can learn which chemicals to watch for in my post Chemicals to Avoid in Household Cleaning Products.

Natural homemade options are always your better choice!

Instructions:

1. Trace the mason jar lid. Using your craft paper of choice, trace and cut out the mason jar lid.

2. Pour baking soda into jar. I put about ¼ cup of baking soda in my mason jar.

3. Add Essential Oils. I wanted a fresh, clean scent so I used my Purify Essential Oil, but you can make whatever scent you like. Add about 20 drops.

4. Shake it up. Put on the lid using the craft paper you traced and shake it up to mix in the scent.

5. Punch holes in the lid. Take the lid back off and using a hole punch, make some holes in the craft paper for the scent to get out, and for the odors to get in.

And that’s all there is to it. This nifty little odor eliminator should last about a month, then replace the baking soda and essential oils. If you want a little refresher in the meantime, you can shake up the mix, or add a few more drops of oils.

If you try it out, let me know how you like it!
